Welcome... a bit about ourselves and get to meet our
award winning team!
HCL was formed by Sam Diment in 2000 and our studios are based on the Chiswick high Road, we design, build and maintain gardens to the highest of standards. We've had gardens featured in many magazines and television programs since 2005, winning industry awards for our construction service. We currently work for some of the countries top garden designers, two of which won gold medals at Chelsea 2014.
Sam is the company owner and works on the construction side of the company. Along with Peter Jaslowski, he personally project manages all the companies garden builds.
"My ethos, when it comes managing our builds, is to ensure that our attention to detail and quality of finish is of the highest possible standard -the best way to achieve this is to be totally involved myself.
Myself and our Contract Managers communicate closely with our clients and designers to ensure that the entire process runs smoothly. We aim to conduct ourselves with an efficient and friendly attitude to our management – nothing is too much trouble!"
Senior Project Manager
Piotr has worked within HCL for over 10 years now, having started as an on site landscaper. He now helps project manage HCL’s garden builds with an extremely knowledgeable and positive frame of mind.
"In the last 10 years we have worked for so many different garden designers who all want to use individual and unique materials. This has meant that myself and the team have become experienced using many different timbers, stones and new landscaping materials.
We can now create a polished rendered finish in any available colour on the market, we can in part textures onto surface which mimic the natural veining found within stone. If there is a particular stone or timber that we are required to instal, we can advise on sealants and treatments before and after installation – this can not be taught, you can only learn these applications by years of experience and research!"
Emma has been working within the company for 8 years, after completing a 2 year Diploma course in Horticulture and Garden Design, which culminated in a silver award, show garden at Hampton Court Flower show 2006.
Previous to this, Emma has a back ground in Art & Design and worked for over 8 years in the field of Horticulture both in Holland and the U.K, giving her valuable practical knowledge when working on design projects.
Mathew is comparatively new in the company but he has 9 years of direct work experience in interior and exterior horticulture companies.
Mathew is the soft landscape manager and leads the co-ordination of the maintenance teams. He interacts closely with clients and designers to ensure all gardens are installed and maintained to a high standard.
